The author suggests many states and courts go out of their way to hide the evidence that current procedures are inhumane. Who knew the methods used to carry out executions are "state secrets"? Note that the drug combination Missouri uses to execute humans been banned (by Missouri law) from use on animals. Hmmmm...

"Johnston's attorneys, backed by a growing cadre of death-penalty experts, maintain that while advances in medical science have yielded an arsenal of more humane drugs, corrections departments continue to rely on an archaic method unchanged since lethal injection was introduced in 1977. The combination of barbiturates and Pavulon has been publicly condemned by the American Veterinary Medical Association for euthanizing animals, and Johnston's attorneys argue that its use on humans "violates contemporary standards of decency." "

"Veterinarians, on the other hand, have been studying how to humanely euthanize animals for decades. In a report published in 2001, the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) condemned the chemical combination of sodium pentothal and Pavulon for animal euthanasia. Similarly, Missouri veterinary regulations prohibit the barbiturate/Pavulon sequence."

Health Insurance for Pets

This is not a joke. Complete with pictures.

A sample:

First we sampled the red prison wine. It was sour, but certainly not terrible. And the good news was it was definitely wine... like... ish. It was surprisingly dry. All the sugar was gone. Then again, if you were sugar, would you have stayed in that shitty-ass garbage bag?

We were all pleasantly surprised.

Regarding Red Prison Wine

Anthony: "I would drink this in prison."

Steve: "I would drink this in high school!"

Then there was the "white" wine. This one's aroma was slightly more earthy. Do you know that smell of grass right after it's cut? That's nice. I was just making chit-chat, because this smelled like rotten eggs tucked into the anus of a dead cat.

Falling bodies

A cool simulation of a human body falling through space. But London, England, police recently sent him a ticket for doing 39 mph in a 30 mph zone. He was allegedly clocked by an automatic camera. But Smith noted the date of the alleged offense was four days after the date the ticket was issued. This isn't the first time motorists have received tickets for future offenses from "speed cameras" in London. Police, at first, insisted these were isolated events.
